Job Description for the Post of Director (Finance, Taxation & Legal)
Job Objective
Advisory role in Finance, Taxation & Legal and Investment related areas in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Act as an interface between the government and member organizations on pertinent issues viz. pricing, accounting, investment and tax legislations for healthy growth of oil industry.

Advisory role on Legal Matters
Key Responsibilities
Take up the advocacy role with governments on behalf of member companies on taxation and fiscal policy related issues.
Promote interest of Petroleum industry in finance and tax related domain.
Function as a facilitator on investment as well as taxation related issues for the oil & gas industry in India.
Facilitate knowledge of cross border policy/legal and investment issues pertaining to global petroleum markets.
Help build relationships with global industry bodies / CFOs
Coordinate with government, regulatory agencies and other representative bodies in the petroleum industry and lenders/banks on behalf of sector companies.
Facilitate optimization of resources and integration effort within the industry.
Prepare and present budgets and annual accounts of FIPI.
Ensure compliance of statutory and legal requirements pertaining to the Federation.
Enable timely forecasting of impact of monetary and fiscal policies of Government of India on the member oil and gas companies.
Review of tax provisions and analyze financial impact of policy related changes.
Coordinate with member companies and jointly work towards sustainable revenue model for FIPI.
Provide forums for deliberating issues of common interest in the finance as well as tax/legal domain amongst industry members.
Organize seminars, conferences, training programmes, lectures and publication of technical papers related to taxation & legal.
Associate with FIPI sub-committees in the relevant areas.
Any other work assigned by the DG, FIPI.

Qualification
Chartered Accountant/ICWA or MBA (Finance); Holding Law degree will be an added advantage.
Experience
At least 20-25 years’ relevant experience in oil & gas sector or in a consulting firm of repute with in depth knowledge of accounting policies, practices & standards, tax legislations and legal framework related to oil & gas industry. The candidates (serving/retired) holding the position of Executive Director/E-9 level (in Oil & Gas PSUs) or equivalent in private organizations are only eligible to apply for this position.
Age
Age Limit: 62 years (as on the date of the publication of the advertisement)
Tenure
The initial tenure will be for a period of two years, which can be extended for a further period of one year (at the recommendation of Director General and approval of Chairman, FIPI) with the superannuation age of 65 years.
