Indian Gas Market
• Gross production of natural gas for the month of January 2026 (P) was 2912 MMSCM which was
lower by 5.0% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
• Total Import of LNG (Provisional) during the month of January 2026 (P) was 2825 MMSCM (higher
by 16% over the corresponding month of the previous year).
• Natural Gas available for sale during January 2026 (P) was 5252 MMSCM (P) (increase of 5.2%
over the corresponding month of the previous year).
• Total Gas Consumption Availability during January 2026 (P) was 5702 MMSCM (Provisional).
Major consumers were Fertilizer (29%), City Gas Distribution (CGD) (24%), Power (10%), Refinery
(10%) and Petrochemicals (6%).
