Job Title - Director/Joint Director (Midstream & Gas)

Job Objective:

Act as an interface between the government and the oil companies operating in the midstream (e.g. crude oil and petroleum product pipelines) and gas sector and take up the advocacy role with government on the concerned policy issues. Also, coordinate with industry members, government and various stakeholders and jointly work towards sustainable growth of the gas infrastructure and oil & gas pipelines in India.


Major Roles:

• Advocacy pertaining to Midstream and Gas Sector
• Policy Analysis and Implementation
• Support globalization efforts of Indian Companies

Key Responsibilities:

• Take up the advocacy role with government on behalf of oil and gas companies in India on policy issues.
• Coordinate with government, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders in the petroleum industry and facilitate sustainable infrastructure growth in the midstream and gas sector.
• Facilitate global competitiveness of oil and gas companies.
• Advise/ update industry members on policy changes and its impact in pipelines and gas sector.
• Facilitate optimization of resources and integration effort amongst petroleum companies.
• Associate with the FIPI sub-committees in the relevant areas.
• Coordinate with member companies for sharing “Best Practices” in the Industry.
• Provide forums for deliberating issues of common interest to industry members.
• Organize seminars, conferences, training programmes, lectures and publication of technical papers & newsletters and facilitate the same for industry members with DG’s consent.
• Any other work assigned by Director General, FIPI.

Graduate with a degree in Engineering, with in-depth knowledge of sector specific policies and practices.


Relevant experience of 10 years or more in oil & gas sector (preferably Pipelines, Gas), policy and planning in the industry.


Preferred Age: 40 to 50 years. In exceptional cases, FIPI at its discretion may consider relaxation of age.


Although, this is a regular position but initially, the appointment may be for tenure of 5 years, which can be extended for further period as may be decided.


Depending upon qualification & experience, the candidate may be offered CTC in the range of Rs. 27-35 lakh per annum.
